Conventions of Websites

In today's society, artists using a website to establish their brand is rare because of the increase in making social networking. Artists are found easily on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by simply typing their stage name into search engine. Some social networking accounts are controlled by their managers because the artist is too busy to update fans on the activities they are doing or some posts made by users can cause offence to the star and they feel constantly watched nad judged which can be downgrading.

Twitter: Has a high population of followers, the site consists of a member 'tweeting' a message, image or video to their followers. Only registered users can read the tweet made by someone if they are following them or if someone else 'retweets' the post on their timeline for other users to see. Twitter is used every minute of the day by users internationally there re for a star to promote themselves using this site, they efficiently grab attention from their fans especially if its used on a daily basis.

Examples:
This is an example of how a star promotes their tour on Twitter.
Drake has over 4 million followers and this influences the
amount of tickets he will sale once this tweet is established. Users
who follow Drake will have priority over individuals who would
get this information via radio.

This is a good way to interact with fans as they adapt a relationship with the star
because it is the actual star that is posting messages.

This is an example of how a members twitter page is displayed. It is very easy to find a celebrity on twitter by just using the search engine on the site. By following the star it allows audience to be updated with their everyday activities of the star is socially active with twitter.
